Driver indicted for negligent homicide of Shiran Levi after fatal intersection crash; prosecution seeks license suspension due to public safety risk.

The indictment filed by Adv. Nelly Moran Mani from the Central District Attorney’s Office states that on 09.09.2025, in the evening hours, the accused was driving his vehicle in the streets. When he reached an intersection, he stopped at a red light. When the traffic light for going straight turned green, and the traffic light for turning left remained red, the accused turned left, thereby blocking the path of Shiran z”l, who entered the intersection on a green light.

As a result of the collision, Shiran z”l fell from the motorcycle and her death was pronounced at the scene. The motorcycle hit a pedestrian who was waiting on the sidewalk at a crosswalk, and he was evacuated to the hospital with injuries.

The indictment attributes to the accused, in addition to the offense of causing death by negligence, also the offense of reckless driving which caused an accident in which a person was injured.

The prosecution requests the court to suspend the accused’s driver’s license until the end of the legal proceedings against him, as the accused’s continued driving poses a real danger to public safety.
