The President’s Residence:
It is no coincidence that the World Health Organization chose to define the climate crisis as the greatest health challenge of the current century. Climate change causes harm to pregnant women, an increase in heart disease morbidity, dramatic phenomena of malnutrition, malaria, and heatstroke, and additional immense challenges for humanity.

Today, as part of the Israeli Climate Forum, we hosted at the President’s Residence the Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Moshe Bar Siman Tov, the Head of the Public Health Division, Dr. Sharon Elrai Price, senior officials from the health system, CEOs, hospital directors, medical directors, and climate officers in health institutions, to formulate an emergency plan to deal with the challenge, and to announce a comprehensive plan for activity in the health systems.

I thank all the partners in this mission for their leadership, commitment, and significant work in strengthening the resilience of the health system in Israel.
