FM Sa’ar meets with the AIPAC Board of Directors

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar met today (Tuesday, 18 March 2025) with AIPAC’s Board of Directors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.

FM Sa’ar briefed the organization’s leadership on the latest developments in Gaza and the situation in the Middle East.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar told AIPAC’s Board:
“At 2:00 AM, we began the strike in Gaza. The initial decision was made several days ago. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense were authorized to determine the timing. We are now 17 days after the conclusion of the first phase of the deal. We conducted negotiations to extend the first phase, led by President Trump’s Special Envoy, Steve Witkoff. Witkoff presented two different proposals, both of which Hamas rejected. We found ourselves at an impasse – no hostage being released and no military action. This situation could not continue. We struck Hamas and additional terror targets in Gaza. This is not a one-day attack. We will continue the military operation in the coming days.”

FM Sa’ar further stated:
“As always, it is important to emphasize that we are doing our utmost to minimize harm to civilians. The Americans were informed before the attack and supported it – because justice is on our side.”
