Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar’s Spoke and Gave a Blessing at a Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem at the Tower of David with Christians Friends of Israel Led by Bishop Robert Stearns and Eagles’ Wings
On the hostage deal:
I hope that we are the closest to a hostage deal since the deal in January. And I want to thank President Donald Trump for all his efforts regarding this huge mission of bringing all our hostages back home. We are doing everything we can to bring our hostages back. We are yearning to see them come home – very soon. Israel is acting – and will act – toward a quick implementation of the first phase of President Trump’s Plan: At its center is the release of our hostages. The Israeli government has a commitment to bring home all the hostages – dead and alive.”
Full Speech:
“Mayor of Jerusalem, My Friend, Moshe Lion,
Bishop Robert Stearns and Eagles’ Wings – thank you for 30 years of friendship and support for the State and Israel,
Pastor Teo Hayashi and the Dunamis Movement from Brazil,
Christian friends of Israel, Jerusalem and the Jewish people,
Shalom – and welcome to Jerusalem – the ancient and eternal capital of the Jewish people!
Here in the Tower of David –
Welcome to Jerusalem DC, David’s Capital!
*****
Jerusalem, is the beating heart of the Jewish people.
It’s not just a city.
Jerusalem is a symbol.
It represents the fulfillment of a dream of over three-thousand-years.
Three thousand years ago, King David lived andh walked here.
He established Jerusalem as our eternal capital.
In the book of Psalms King David wrote: “If I forget you Jerusalem, let my right hand be forgotten.” (Psalms 137)
Ever since, the Jewish people have prayed for Jerusalem. We have never forgotten.
The ancient words of the Biblical prophets came true.
The Jewish people returned to Israel. Jerusalem was restored as our capital.
God fulfilled his promise.
And we are here now – to stay – forever.

Friends,
Jerusalem is the core of our identity.
Remembering our past – and building Jerusalem in the present, like the Mayor is doing – ensures our future.
There is a huge global movement today trying to erase the proven historical connection – between the Jewish people and its ancient homeland and capital.
That reminds me of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Did you hear of him?
He destroyed Jerusalem. He built a new city on its ruinsy and called it Ilia Capitolina.
His goal was to erase the memory of the Jewish city.
But does anybody today remember Ilia Capitolina?
Everyone knows Jerusalem.
There has never been a sovereign nation in the land of Israel besides the Jewish people.
Not the Palestinians – or any other nation.
There has never been, during all the history, a Palestinian state.
Jerusalem has always been and will always be the eternal capital of the Jewish people and the capital of only one state – the State of Israel.
King David wrote “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they be secure who love you.” (Psalms 122:6-7)
So let us pray together for the peace of Jerusalem.
Let us pray – Jews and Christians – for peace here and throughout our ancient land of Israel.
****
To our Christian friends – with us in Jerusalem today and around the world:
You are part of the story of Jerusalem. Your prayers uplift us.
Thank you for standing for the truth and for standing with Israel. It is much appreciated.
Our Judeo-Christian alliance is the basis of Western civilization.
Charlie Kirk understood that.
His murder was an assault on truth and on the moral basis of our society.
Let his memory serve as a guide to us:
To be better.
To speak truth.
To be united.
I want to praise President Donald Trump – the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Tomorrow, we will celebrate the ancient Jewish holiday of Sukkot.
Sukkot is one of the Three Pilgrimage Festivals: Our ancestors came to the Temple in Jerusalem, not very far from here, from all over to worship God.
I want to finish with a blessing of peace that the Jewish Priests give during the festivals:
“May God bless you, and keep you;
May God make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you;
May God lift up His face to you, and give you peace.”
May God bless you all,
May God bless Jerusalem and those who bless her!
¡Que Dios los bendiga a todos,
Que Dios bendiga a Jerusalén y a quienes la bendicen!
Thank you!
Am Yisrael Chai!”
