Jerusalem, 18 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Home Front Command announced on Wednesday it was relaxing some restrictions following a new security assessment of the war with Iran, now in its sixth day.
“We are adjusting the civilian activity scale in accordance with the threat level,” the Home Front Command said in a statement.
According to updated civil defense guidelines due to take effect at 6:00 PM, most of the country is moving from “essential activity” to “limited activity. Gatherings of up to 30 people will be permitted and workplaces will be allowed to reopen as long as a protected shelter is nearby that can be reached in time.
In higher-risk areas — including the Gaza border communities, the Golan Heights, Beit She’an Valley, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, Arava region and Eilat — the level has been raised to “partial activity,” allowing outdoor gatherings of up to 50 and indoor gatherings of up to 100, provided shelters are accessible.
However, all schools will remain closed until further notice. These guidelines will remain in place through Friday night, when officials will reassess the situation.
The barrages have killed 24 people. Of the more than 804 people injured, eight are in serious condition, 41 are in moderate condition while 795 suffered minor injuries.
Property damage is based on damage claims submitted to the Israel Tax Authority. Of the 18,766 claims made to the Authority, 15,861 were for structural damage to buildings, 1,272 were related to vehicles and 1,633 were related to contents and other property.
Some 3,800 Israelis have been evacuated from their homes.
Israel launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear sites on Friday, citing intelligence that Tehran had reached “a point of no return” in its pursuit of nuclear weapons. According to Israeli defense officials, Iran has developed the capacity to rapidly enrich uranium and assemble nuclear bombs, with sufficient fissile material for up to 15 weapons.
Israeli intelligence also exposed a covert program to complete all components of a nuclear device. The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in what officials describe as a broader Iranian strategy combining nuclear development, missile proliferation, and proxy warfare aimed at Israel’s destruction.
