Driving Instructors Meet: Safety Focus

Over 100 Israeli driving instructors met in Modi'in to boost road safety, hearing from experts on strategic driving and risk factors. New motorcycle curriculum.

Last night, a unique and first-of-its-kind conference for driving instructors was held in the city of Modi’in, a private initiative of one of the city’s driving instructors, with the assistance of the Modi’in Municipality and the participation of over 100 driving instructors for all types of vehicles. The conference aimed to promote professional dialogue, deepen knowledge, and place the issue of road safety at the center of young driver training.

Speakers at the conference included the Mayor of Modi’in, Mr. Chaim Bibas, the Deputy Mayor and Head of the Transportation Portfolio, the Commander of the Modi’in Police Station, and Mr. Beni Aviad, a former senior official in the Vehicle Division of the Ministry of Transport, who presented innovations and updates in the automotive field. Ms. Dikla Rimon, Director of the Training Division at the National Road Safety Authority, participated and lectured.

In her lecture, Dikla Rimon presented the Road Safety situation for 2025, principles of strategic driving, and the concept of risk factors as a proven and significant component in reducing road accidents. Additionally, the new curriculum for motorcycles was presented, which for the first time generically integrates principles of ride planning, identification of potential and actual dangers, and safe motorcycle operation to avoid them.

During the conference, the thirst and need of driving instructors for in-depth professional dialogue were evident. Participants expressed great interest in the new program, along with favorable reactions and questions about its expansion to training drivers with a B license. The Mayor, Chaim Bibas, emphasized in his remarks the heavy price of road accidents and the central role of driving instructors in training the young generation of drivers, who will soon be behind the wheel and will affect the safety of us all on the roads.

The National Road Safety Authority noted that professional meetings of this kind are an important component in promoting a culture of safe driving, strengthening partnerships with local authorities, and developing quality and advanced training for driving instructors in Israel.
