Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharren Haskel held a briefing for foreign reporters today (Tuesday, 22 April 2025), as part of the weekly briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among other issues, she addressed the fighting in Gaza and the Iranian threat.
DFM Haskel: “Hamas is trying to create a false narrative, claiming that Israel is responsible for prolonging the war. This is a blatant lie. The suffering of the residents of Gaza and the citizens of Israel is caused by Hamas. Even the residents of Gaza say this. I wish everyone who claims to care about the residents of Gaza would support their protests against Hamas. All the pressure should be directed at them.”
Regarding Iran, she stated: “Iran must not possess nuclear weapons. It is the most significant destabilizing element in the Middle East, arming, financing, and terrorizing all surrounding regions. Disarming Iran from nuclear weapons is in the interest of the entire world.”
