A new tourist path, David's Wanderings Trail, opens in Hebron Hills, part of the NIS 1.6M "Paths of Psalms" project to develop heritage sites.

A cornerstone was also laid for the “Paths of Psalms” project, which will include the development of a new tourist path between Yatir Forest, Talia Farm, Yair Observatory, and ancient Susya. Parks, observation points, and viewpoints will be developed along the path. The project was budgeted by the Ministry of Tourism at approximately 1.6 million NIS, out of a total budget of approximately 2 million NIS.

These projects are part of a broad investment momentum by the Ministry of Tourism in the Hebron Regional Council, which includes the development of heritage sites, hiking trails, and tourism infrastructure, with an accumulated investment of over 15 million NIS, out of a total investment of close to 20 million NIS, together with additional partners.

These days, Minister of Tourism Haim Reuven Katz is promoting a first-of-its-kind program for tourism development in Judea and Samaria, with a total scope of approximately 86 million NIS from the Ministry of Tourism’s budget, which he will bring for government approval soon. The Ministry of Tourism views Judea and Samaria, the land of biblical stories, as an area rich in Jewish heritage tourism assets of national importance, historical sites, and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Israel, which has not realized its potential for years. In accordance with the Minister’s policy, through planned investment in infrastructure, statutory planning, and marketing, the Ministry is creating conditions that will enable responsible tourism development, strengthening the local economy, and expanding the range of destinations for the Israeli public and incoming tourism.

Minister of Tourism Haim Reuven Katz: “The Hebron region combines history, settlement, agriculture, and nature, and offers an experience that connects a rich past with a living and developing reality.
The development we are promoting here is not only intended to preserve the story, but to enable the public to reach, hike, learn about, and connect to the place in a convenient and accessible way. We have invested over 15 million shekels in the development of these projects, as part of a broad policy that I am leading for tourism development in Judea and Samaria, and we will continue to invest in the development of sites and infrastructure that bring visitors, strengthen the local economy, and improve the traveler’s experience.”

Head of the Hebron Regional Council Eiram Azulai:
Tourism in Hebron connects spectacular landscapes, roots, and people. We are excited to inaugurate today the ‘Path of David’s Wanderings’ – a path that connects a glorious past to a promising tourism future, and at the same time to lay the cornerstone for the ‘Land of Psalms’ project which is launching. Here, in the primeval landscapes of the Hebron region and the expanses of the desert fringe, King David walked thousands of years ago and wrote the Psalms, and now on the ‘Path of David’s Wanderings’ promenade, all of Israel can walk in his footsteps. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the tourism and engineering departments in the council, who led the project hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism, and enabled this special project to happen. Together with the Minister of Tourism and his ministry, we will continue to advance the ‘Land of Psalms’ project.”

Thanks also to Hachkal Yehuda. At the inauguration ceremony of the promenade, I thank the company Anaf for the execution management and the company “Negev” for the execution in the field. My thanks also to the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Interior for their important partnership.
Come and hike, connect with history, and enjoy the unique beauty of our region.”
