Court convicts Lt. Col. Avi Cohen

Lt. Col. Avi Cohen convicted of sexual misconduct with a junior policewoman and deleting evidence from his phone. Sentencing is scheduled for July.

During the hearing, Cohen was convicted, based on his confession, of the facts attributed to him in the indictment filed against him last August by the Police Investigations Department (Mahash) prosecution.

Commander Cohen was convicted of maintaining a sexual relationship with a young policewoman, who was serving her mandatory service, while he served as commander of the David district in the Jerusalem district, and subsequently appointed her to a position under his command.

Commander Cohen was also convicted of deleting relevant messages and documentation from his mobile phone when suspicion of the acts became public.

The sentencing phase for Commander Cohen has been scheduled for next July.
