Jerusalem, 14 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Karnei Shomron umbrella agreement was signed today (Sunday) – the first umbrella agreement in Judea and Samaria – which allocates two billion Shekels towards the construction of 6,000 new housing units in the town.

The agreement, which was formed following cooperation between the local council, the Israeli government and the Israel Land Authority, also includes extensive investments in infrastructure, public institutions, education, culture, transportation, commercial and employment areas, and the development of public space.

“This is an unprecedented move for the settlement,” said the Israel Land Authority, “which is expected to lead to the expansion of Karnei Shomron’s borders and strengthen its position as a significant regional center in the heart of Samaria.”
