Jerusalem, 26 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Military Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir has decided to dismiss former Military Prosecutor Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi from the Israel Defense Forces, the military said.

According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Office, Zamir suspended her immediately once suspicions emerged during the Sde Teiman affair.

Tomer-Yerushalmi admitted leaking a video showing Israeli soldiers appearing to abuse a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman facility, then later lying about it while ostensibly leading an inquiry to find the leaker.

Charges against five reserve soldiers seen in the video were dropped in March. Prosecutors said the video was inconclusive and the Palestinian prisoner in question had been released to Gaza during a prisoner exchange in October 2025.
