Together with all citizens of Israel, my wife and I mourn the fall of Major (Res.) Harel Birnstock z”l and Sergeant Major (Res.) Tamir Wecknin z”l, who fell in battle in southern Lebanon. Harel and Tamir were among our finest sons, brave fighters who enlisted for reserve duty and fought heroically to protect the residents of the North and the State of Israel. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their dearest ones, and we wish a full recovery to our fighters who were wounded in that incident. May the memory of our heroes be blessed and cherished in the heart of the nation.
