Jerusalem, 16 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Jerusalem-based SpliSense has secured up to $13 million in funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to advance its Phase 2b clinical study of SPL84, an inhaled RNA-based therapy for cystic fibrosis. The support follows positive Phase 2a results showing improved lung function and a safety profile that the company described as the first clinical proof-of-concept for an inhaled antisense oligonucleotide therapy in a lung disease.

The ongoing global Phase 2b trial includes sites in the United States, Europe and Israel, and is focused on patients with the 3849+10kb C→T mutation who remain on standard CFTR modulator treatments. Topline results are expected in the second half of 2027. The Israeli biotech said the funding will help accelerate development of its broader pulmonary disease pipeline.
