Jerusalem, 25 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Ashkelon was selected to participate in the national “Switch” training program designed to expose boys and girls to the world of sustainable Energy, deepen their familiarity with Israel’s energy sector challenges, and encourage entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and driving change in the community in the field of sustainable energy.

The program will include dedicated training for youth, in which participants will acquire knowledge in the fields of energy, energy efficiency, Renewable Energy, efficient transportation, and the impact of energy consumption on the environment and the community.

The program, led by the Sustainable Energy Division at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, will operate during the upcoming school year. In each local authority selected to participate, a youth group of 25–35 students from grades 8–10 will be established. These students will undergo an in-depth educational process including a series of meetings, professional mentoring, and the development of a community project with local impact.
