MK Israel Eichler elected as Knesset representative to the Rabbinical Judges Selection Committee

​In the Knesset Plenum’s sitting on Wednesday, MK Israel Eichler (United Torah Judaism) was elected as the Knesset’s representative to the Rabbinical Judges Selection Committee. In the vote, 66 members of Knesset voted in favor of MK Eichler’s candidacy, versus 38 opposing votes. The election procedure was held following the end of Eliyahu Baruchi’s term of office in the Knesset.

The vote was held by secret ballot in the Knesset Plenum, under section 6 of the Rabbinical Judges Law, 1955, and in accordance with article 62 of the Knesset Rules of Procedure.
