In a series of votes held on Monday, new committee chairs were appointed to four Knesset committees.
The Special Committee for Bridging Social Gaps in the Periphery voted to approve the recommendation of the House Committee to appoint MK Michael Malkieli (Shas) as chair of the Special Committee for Bridging Social Gaps in the Periphery. The appointment was approved unanimously in a vote conducted by House Committee Chair MK Ofir Katz (Likud).
The Special Committee for the Rights of the Child voted unanimously to approve the recommendation of the House Committee to appoint MK Kathrin Shitrit (Likud) as chair of the committee, replacing MK Eliyahu Revivo (Likud).
MK Shitrit said, “This field is very close to my heart. We will do an excellent job for the children, who are the mainstay of Israeli society. We don’t have to wait for them to grow up; there is a lot to do. We hope that we will continue to do this until the end of the [Knesset] term.”
The Internal Affairs and Environment Committee voted unanimously to approve the recommendation of the House Committee to appoint MK Yitzhak Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit) as committee chair.
The incoming committee chair, MK Kroizer, said that he was accepting the post with a great sense of responsibility, and that he would keep the deposit until MK Yaakov Asher (United Torah Judaism) would return to his post as committee chair.
The Labor and Welfare Committee voted to approve the House Committee’s recommendation to appoint MK Michal Woldiger (Religious Zionism) as committee chair.
