the knesset on Thursday marked National Memorial Day for the October 7 Disaster and the Swords of Iron War.

Speaker of the Knesset MK Amir Ohana (Likud) lit a memorial candle at the Knesset Members’ entrance to the parliament building, in memory of the victims of the October 7 massacre and those who fell in the ensuing war.

The Israeli flags in the official ceremonial plaza were lowered to half-staff, in the presence of speaker mk Ohana, Knesset Director General Moshe Chico Edri and Knesset Sergeant-at-Arms Yuval Chen, accompanied by an honor guard of members of the Knesset Guard.

Speaker MK Ohana also laid wreaths​ at the foot of the memorial for Israel’s fallen soldiers and the memorial for victims of hostile acts.
