The Committee for Oversight of the Israeli Citizens’ Fund, chaired by MK Nissim Vaturi (Likud), conducted on Sunday a tour of the Karish natural gas rig in the Mediterranean Sea, which is operated by Energean Israel.
During the tour, committee members received a briefing from Energean Israel CEO Shaul Zemach about the gas extraction processes at the rig and the company’s operations. Zemach also noted that the company’s entry into the market has created competition and led to a reduction in prices.
The committee members received a guided tour of the rig’s internal facilities, followed by an external tour.
Committee Chair MK Vaturi said: “The gas rigs are a strategic asset for the State of Israel. This is a genuine treasure contributes to securing the future of our children. We will continue to invest in Israeli children and in future generations in education, security, healthcare, employment, and renewable energy.”
