Israel's Foreign Minister Gidon Sa'ar met Paraguay's FM Rubén Ramírez in Jerusalem, discussing Gaza's demilitarization and Iran's terror threats.

Foreign Minister G Gideon Sa’ar met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem with Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano. The meeting began with a one-on-one meeting between the Foreign Ministers, followed by an expanded meeting with the participation of the bilateral teams.

Afterwards, the ministers made statements to the press.

From the words of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar:
“We support the Trump plan for Gaza. Hamas must be disarmed and Gaza must be demilitarized. This is at the heart of the plan and must not be compromised. This is essential for the security and stability of the region, and also for a better future for the residents of Gaza themselves.”

Sa’ar also said: “I commend President Peña’s decision to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. Recently, the European Union and Ukraine have also done so, and I welcome this. The Iranian regime is murdering its own people. It endangers stability in the Middle East, and exports terror to other continents, including Latin America. The attempt by the extremist regime in the world to acquire the most dangerous weapon in the world – nuclear weapons – is a clear danger to the peace of the region and the world.
The long-range ballistic missiles that the Iranian regime seeks to produce in enormous quantities endanger Israel, but not only Israel. The Iranian regime has already used missiles against other countries in the Middle East. European countries are also threatened by the range of these missiles.”

From the words of Paraguayan Foreign Minister Rubén Ramírez Lezcano: “Paraguay’s sovereign decision to open its embassy in Jerusalem was made out of conviction and was done responsibly. It reflects the coherent foreign policy that we consistently and clearly hold regarding Israel.
Paraguay unequivocally and indisputably supports the State of Israel’s right to exist and to self-defense. This position has only been strengthened and gained further validity in various international forums following the brutal attack of October 7, 2023.”
