Transportation Ministry Director General Moshe Ben Zaken toured Sheba Medical Center, pledging to adapt infrastructure to its growth rate and accelerate.

ministry of Transportation Director General toured Sheba Medical Center: “Transportation Minister Regev instructed to adapt transportation needs and Infrastructure to the growth rate of the medical center, we will work to accelerate projects and improve accessibility.”

During a professional tour conducted by Ministry of Transportation Director General Moshe Ben Zaken in the City of Health – Sheba, the Director General of the Medical Center, Prof. Yitzhak Kreiss, presented the transportation challenges arising from the accelerated growth of the medical center. 

In accordance with the directive of Transportation Minister Miri Regev, all infrastructure companies operating in the vicinity of the medical center, directors general, planners, engineers, representatives of the Public Transportation Authority, Netivei Israel, Netivei Ayalon, and Metropolitan Mass Transit System (NTA) participated in the discussion. 

The discussion presented the progress of projects under planning and execution, as well as ways to reduce congestion around Sheba City of Health and improve accessibility and public transportation to and from the medical center, alongside solutions including light rail lines, public transportation terminals, parking lots, and regulation of access routes.

Ministry of Transportation Director General Moshe Ben Zaken: “Sheba is one of the leading medical centers in the world, and the State of Israel is blessed with it and its doctors. Medical centers are essential for the citizens of Israel in routine and emergency situations, and in accordance with the policy of Transportation Minister Miri Regev, we will work to remove obstacles and accelerate initiatives that will improve access and traffic to Sheba. The challenges presented to us in the discussion are already on the work plan of all professional parties, and we will work to assist and overcome them.”
