The selection committee for the Director of the National Community Security Authority unanimously chose judge chen Avital as the next director of the Authority. Avital recently served as the President of the Community Courts in the country. In his past, Avital served as a judge and president of the Magistrate’s Court in Jerusalem, and as a juvenile judge for many years, during which he dealt with and worked in the field of rehabilitation and prevention. Among his other senior management skills, Avital has extensive experience in relations and work with many government ministries, various local authorities, the Israel Police, the Israel Prison Service, the third sector, and more. The committee members, Ms. Hagit Reshef, the person responsible for security and foreign systems at the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Avishai Kraus, public representative, and Mr. Refael Engel, Director General of the Ministry of National Security, were convinced by Avital’s seriousness and commitment to the areas of activity of the Community Security Authority and the deep understanding he demonstrated in the core areas of its work and the management capabilities of the former judge.
