The indictment filed by attorney Orad Shalav from the Central District Attorney’s Office states that about three weeks ago, in broad daylight, reportedly due to a financial dispute, the defendant arrived at the apartment of the complainant’s partner in Ramla, armed with a knife, and demanded money.
After a verbal and physical confrontation, the defendant pulled the knife from his pocket and stabbed the complainant in the upper torso. Even when he fell and lay on the floor, the defendant continued to stab the complainant, while his partner and their young son were in the living room near them, and despite her screams.
At some point, the complainant’s partner called Magen David Adom (MDA), while the defendant fled the apartment and was only arrested several days later in a taxi in Eilat, with a 16 cm bladed knife on his person.
As a result of the defendant’s actions, the complainant sustained severe injuries, was evacuated to the hospital, underwent surgery, and was hospitalized.
The indictment attributes to the defendant the commission of offenses of grievous bodily harm under aggravating circumstances and unlawful possession of a knife.
The prosecution requests the court to order the continued detention of the defendant until the legal proceedings against him are concluded.
In the arrest request, the Central District Attorney’s Office noted, among other things, that this is a severe violent offense, which was committed in the middle of the day, in an apartment where the victim was present with his partner and infant son in the same room. This, solely due to a financial dispute that arose between the parties.
