The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is currently working to make comprehensive and accessible information available to citizens interested in establishing integrated solar storage systems. This initiative aims to enable households to increase their self-consumption of the electricity they generate, reduce reliance on the grid, and ensure operational continuity and Energy security, alongside significant Economic feasibility in emergencies and routine situations.
The Ministry is currently launching a new and comprehensive guide on its website, which consolidates all the necessary information for establishing a solar system with storage, or for adding storage to an existing system. The guide explains how to utilize solar Electricity generation during daylight hours, store it for evening and night hours, and manage smart self-consumption that reduces electricity purchases from the grid and increases energy independence.
Integrating storage allows households to use the electricity they generate themselves even when solar production is low or during power outages. This creates a direct link between high self-consumption and energy security: enabling households to operate without full dependence on the national electricity grid, maintaining operational continuity, and managing their energy economy more stably and efficiently.
An integrated solar storage system offers key advantages:
- Increased self-consumption – Maximum use of electricity generated at home, reduced electricity purchases from the grid, and smart management of consumption loads.
- Energy security – Continuous electricity supply even during faults, overloads, or planned grid outages.
- Economic feasibility – Savings on electricity expenses, optimized energy use, and even the possibility of selling surplus to the grid.
- Environmental contribution – Transition to clean energy and reduction of pollutant emissions.
The guide includes detailed explanations on system components, how to integrate generation, storage, and self-consumption, as well as economic feasibility analyses. It joins other information already published by the Ministry on the subject.
