Israel's Ministry of Education concludes EducAItion conference with Jerusalem Declaration, fostering international cooperation for responsible AI integration in.

Minister of Education, Yoav Kisch: “The EducAItion conference was born from a clear vision: an education system cannot afford to react to the artificial intelligence revolution – it must lead it. The Jerusalem Declaration concludes the conference with a commitment to international cooperation in the responsible and informed integration of artificial intelligence in education. Artificial intelligence should empower teachers, enhance students, and promote quality learning – not replace educational judgment.”

At the conclusion of the EducAItion conference – the international conference on artificial intelligence and innovation in education, held this week in Jerusalem at the initiative of the ministry of Education – education ministers, government representatives, and policymakers from around the world adopted the “Jerusalem Declaration,” a declaration that serves as a gateway to international cooperation for the advanced, responsible, and values-based integration of artificial intelligence into national education systems.

The adoption of the Jerusalem Declaration marks one of the conference’s highlights, summarizing three days of discussions, policy presentations, and in-depth professional dialogue on the future of education in the age of artificial intelligence.

At the heart of the declaration lies the clear agreement and desire for strong and continuous international cooperation, and the understanding that artificial intelligence is not just a supportive technology, but a shaping force that profoundly influences the ways of learning, teaching, and training the next generation.

According to the declaration, countries will work together to promote pedagogical innovation, develop artificial intelligence literacy from an early age, train teachers to work with advanced technologies, and implement common ethical, legal, and technological standards – while safeguarding student welfare, their social and emotional development, and the good of the entire education system.

The EducAItion conference is the first international conference led by the Ministry of Education and is entirely dedicated to the integration of artificial intelligence in the education system. During the conference, approximately 45,000 participants from Israel and around the world attended the event – including about 30 official delegations, hundreds of senior figures from government, academia, and the high-tech industry, alongside thousands of students and educators. Within the framework of the conference, policy concepts, research, applied initiatives, and innovative pilots were presented, most notably the unveiling of the Ministry of Education’s 720 program for personalized learning based on skills.

The adoption of the “Jerusalem Declaration” positions Israel as a leading player on the international stage in shaping the strategic discourse on the future of education in the age of artificial intelligence, and emphasizes the Ministry of Education’s role in leading educational policy that integrates innovation, responsibility, and values – in practice.
