On the 16th of Shevat 5786 (3.2.2026), a summary meeting was held at the office of the Rishon LeZion, the Chief Rabbi of Israel, with the participation of the delegation of rabbis and judges who returned from a mission to India. The mission’s purpose was to conduct interviews for conversion candidates.
The delegation operated in cooperation with the Conversion Array, the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, the Jewish Agency, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the delegation’s work in the field was presented, key issues that arose during the mission were discussed, and lessons and recommendations were drawn for future delegations.
The Rishon LeZion thanked the delegation members for their dedicated mission, congratulated them on their activities, and in his words, reinforced the halachic and national importance of the conversion mission.
