The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, held a general staff situation assessment today (Tuesday), on the eve of the second day of the holiday, together with the General Staff Forum. During the situation assessment, the main activities in all sectors were presented.

The Chief of Staff said at the situation assessment: “We are approaching a strategic junction in the joint campaign against Iran. We have achieved great successes so far, also in relation to the objectives we set when we launched the operation. We will continue to act with determination and deepen the damage to the regime.”

“At this moment, our forces are also operating in Lebanon,” the Chief of Staff continued. “Lebanon is another central arena. IDF forces are operating there on a large scale and deepening the multi-point damage to Hezbollah. We continue to stabilize a forward defense area to prevent direct fire towards our communities, and at the same time, we are acting against the precision missile threat deep inside, and in every encounter, our forces overcome Hezbollah. War has severe costs, we will continue to act to remove threats from our citizens.”

“We continue to operate also in Gaza, Syria, and Judea and Samaria, and continue to remove any threat that develops in these arenas as well,” added Lt. Gen. Zamir.

“In recent weeks, I have been in Metula, Kiryat Shmona, Shtula, and Nahariya, meeting with residents, with the emergency readiness teams, and with the combat soldiers in the sector,” noted the Chief of Staff. “The residents of the North trust the IDF and express great appreciation for our activities. The ability of the civilians to persevere and their resilience, alongside the soldiers, is an important and essential component that allows us to advance in our missions.”

“This week, during a tour of southern Lebanon, I met with the reserve soldiers of the 226th Brigade who reported for reserve duty once again. Afterwards, I met with the battalion commanders in the sector – Amir, commander of the ‘Yehonatan’ battalion in the Haredi ‘Chashmonaim’ Brigade, Fares, commander of the ‘Herev’ reserve battalion composed of members of the Druze community, and Nimrod, commander of the regional defense battalion composed of residents of the area,” said Lt. Gen. Zamir.

“I saw the people of Israel at their best, in their various shades – an extraordinary connection that is even more moving during the Passover holiday. Together, they embody the story of the people of Israel – working together for one goal: ensuring the security of the state. We will continue to act for our freedom. Have a safe holiday,” concluded the Chief of Staff.
