The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, held a meeting today (Sunday) with the Mayor of Nahariya and with members of the emergency response team of Moshav Shlomi.

The Chief of Staff spoke with them about the operational situation and emphasized the importance of resilience in the home front demonstrated by the heads of local authorities and cities.

The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, said: “We are fighting inside Lebanon to protect Nahariya and the communities of the North, and to ensure long-term security for the residents. An opportunity has arisen here to change the security reality, and we will not miss it.”

“We have evacuated a population from areas in Lebanon for their protection, and we will not return them until we ensure disarmament south of the Litani River. Our priority is removing the direct threat to you, the residents of the North. We are systematically suppressing the threat of rocket fire, utilizing all the capabilities at our disposal.”

“We are operating in various areas in Lebanon to enable security for the residents of the North and all citizens of Israel – Hezbollah is suffering heavy blows, and we will continue to deepen them.”

“We are operating on two fronts; the Northern front is another central front in addition to Iran. We see that the achievements against Iran also affect Hezbollah.”

“The resilience you are demonstrating is an integral part of our effort. I wish to express deep appreciation for the leadership, fortitude, and support for the IDF – this reinforcement gives us the endurance to continue.”
