Gaza Division (143) forces, under Southern Command, along with the Shin Bet, eliminated an armed Hamas terrorist cell yesterday (Saturday) that had approached the “red line” and planned to carry out terror attacks against IDF forces operating in the central Gaza Strip in the immediate term.
Following intelligence investigation, it can be determined that Ali Sami Muhammad Shakara, a Nukhba department commander in Hamas, who infiltrated Israeli territory during the murderous rampage on October 7th and participated in the abduction of Hersch Goldberg-Polin (z”l), Alon Ahl, Eliya Cohen, and Or Levy from the shelter in Re’im, was eliminated in the strike.
In this strike, Muhammad Mabhuh, a territorial company commander in Hamas’s Al-Bureij Battalion, and Muhammad Fuad Gasser Said were also eliminated – both participated in holding Avinatan Or captive by Hamas.
The IDF is now releasing a photo of Muhammad Fuad Gasser Said, who served as a Hamas platoon commander, documented holding Avinatan Or captive inside a Hamas tunnel.
In addition, other Nukhba terrorists in Hamas were eliminated in the strike, including terrorists who operated to launch rockets towards Israeli territory.
IDF forces in Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to neutralize any immediate threat.
