Breaking Update

Today (Thursday) another stage of the pilot program for integrating women into the Sayeret Matkal unit concluded. The pilot program began in December 2024.

A female combatant successfully completed a year-and-a-half training course for Sayeret Matkal, marking a new stage in the unit's integration pilot.

One female combatant who underwent a preliminary selection process and met the required criteria, successfully completed a dedicated training course for her which lasted over a year and a half. The IDF congratulates the combatant on her significant and groundbreaking achievement. The manner of integrating the combatant into the operational activity in the unit will be summarized soon and implemented according to operational needs and subject to the joint service order. Furthermore, a summary of the training phase in the pilot will be brought to the General Staff table soon. At this time, maximizing the service potential of male and female combatants from all sectors and populations is the order of the hour, and the IDF will continue to act to achieve this while understanding the needs, operating within the operational framework, and based on the joint service order.
