The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, visited the Central Command today (Tuesday) with the Commander of the Central Command, Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth, the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller, the Commander of Division 96, Brig. Gen. Oren Simcha, brigade commanders, and additional commanders.

During the visit, the Chief of Staff visited the forces in the Benjamin Regional Brigade and the Samaria Regional Brigade, held a situation assessment, and spoke with the commanders of the divisions and brigades operating in the Central Command about the challenges in the sector and recent events.

“The State of Israel and the IDF are in the midst of a historic and unprecedented multi-arena campaign against the Iranian terror regime and its proxies throughout the region. At this moment, the IDF is attacking in Lebanon and Tehran and defending proactively on all borders,” began the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. “Tonight, we eliminated the Minister of Intelligence of the Iranian terror regime, Ismail Hativ, and simultaneously attacked the commander of the Imam Hussein Division, who did not have time to settle into his role after we eliminated his predecessor.”

“The exceptional work of the Central Command, led by the Command’s commander, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, and the regional brigade commanders, is worthy of all appreciation. The number of terror incidents in the past year is among the lowest we have known, and this is thanks to the offensive and professional activity carried out here. Nevertheless, the nature of terror is that it can strike at any moment, and therefore your primary directive is to continue to maintain high alertness, strong defense of the settlements, and continued determined and uncompromising war on terror. We must provide security and be highly available, reaching every point in the area in short timeframes, to thwart terror in the region.”

“In the recent period, there has been an increase in nationalist crime incidents, some of which are directed directly against our soldiers and the civilian population. It is unacceptable that during a multi-arena war, the IDF must also contend with a threatening minority from within. These are rioters who do not represent the settlements. On the contrary, they endanger the settlements, security stability, and our values as a people and a state. I call on all parties in the country to stand against this phenomenon and cut it off before it is too late. Whoever thinks these actions help security is mistaken – they are morally and ethically reprehensible, and they create immense strategic damage to the IDF’s efforts.”

“Commanders – you operate day and night, under complex conditions, for the security of the State of Israel, the settlements, and their people. I appreciate you greatly for this. The last thing I would want is for you to be burdened beyond the existing difficulty of carrying out the routine mission. There is no place in public discourse for statements or incitement against commanders who operate daily to eradicate terror and maintain Israel’s security. Continue to excel – I am behind you.”
