This morning (Thursday), in an attack in the Tripoli area, the Navy attacked and eliminated the terrorist Waseem Attallah Ali, a Hamas commander responsible for training and instruction in Hamas’s military wing in Lebanon. This is the first attack in the Tripoli area since the start of Operation ‘Lion’s Roar’.
The terrorist was engaged in advancing terror plots to harm Israeli civilians and IDF forces, and his activities constituted a threat to Israel and its citizens.
Since the start of Operation ‘Lion’s Roar’, the Navy has been extensively attacking Hezbollah infrastructure throughout Lebanon and has been detecting and intercepting aerial threats towards Israeli territory daily using missile ships.
Major ‘A’, Head of Department at the Fire Center of the Naval Arm, said: “Navy vessels attacked Hezbollah targets as part of the General Staff’s offensive in the northern arena. The Navy’s Fire Center, in a joint effort with the Northern Command, the Air Force, and Military Intelligence, led the attack on Hezbollah targets from the sea. We will continue to operate in the mission of offense and defense in all sectors, to ensure the security of the residents of the State of Israel.”
