The missile ship that Major R. will command played a significant role in the war and participated in complex operational activities: including Operation Bashan Arrow, during which the Syrian navy was attacked, the elimination of the acting head of Hamas in Gaza and the person responsible for its finances, the elimination of a senior Hezbollah operative in the Air Unit (127), providing artillery and observation support for maneuvering forces in Lebanon, and intercepting aerial threats as part of air defense.

Major R. enlisted in 2016 for the naval officers’ course and has since held a series of significant positions in the Navy, including weapons officer and deputy commander of a missile ship, and also commanded a Dvora-class patrol boat in Flotilla 916.

Commander of the Naval Branch, Major General David Saar Salama, told Major R.: “Your selection is a professional choice that embodies excellence, leadership, responsibility, and courage, which you have proven time and again in rough seas. The Navy, the IDF, and the people of Israel are proud of you.”
