Joint statement from the IDF Spokesperson and the Police Spokesperson: Throughout the day, IDF forces, Israel Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District, and Border Police fighters from Judea and Samaria were dispatched to various locations in the Judea and Samaria sector.
IDF and police in Judea and Samaria confiscated attack means and arrested five civilians, while also responding to violence against forces.
As part of these operations, forces inspected a vehicle that aroused their suspicion near the village of Deir al-Hatab in the Samaria Brigade. Attack means were located and confiscated. The five civilians were arrested by IDF Border Police fighters and transferred for further investigation at the Ariel station in the Judea and Samaria District. In another incident that occurred in the Yitzhar area, a number of Israeli civilians attacked security forces who were operating to restore order. As a result, a police officer was injured and damage was caused to security forces’ vehicles. As a result of these incidents, several Palestinians were injured and evacuated for medical treatment. Security forces have been deployed since the afternoon on routes and at friction points in order to maintain order and security, and at the same time are acting with zero tolerance towards extremist violent individuals who disrupt order. The IDF and the Israel Police view with severity and condemn violence of any kind that harms security in the area.
