IDF, Shin Bet to Use Tech to Monitor West Bank Movement Restrictions

IDF and Shin Bet will deploy advanced tech to monitor West Bank movement restrictions, enhancing compliance and deterring violations in Judea and Samaria.

Joint statement from theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson: Following the directive of the political echelon, and after joint staff work by the IDF, Shin Bet, Israel Police, Ministry of Justice, and the legal advisor for Judea and Samaria, the Commander of the Central Command, Major General Avi Bluth, signed an order allowing the use of technological means to monitor compliance with restriction orders in Judea and Samaria. The order will allow for the installation of technological monitoring means for those against whom an administrative order restricting their movement in the Judea and Samaria region has been issued, and to monitor violations of the restriction orders accordingly. It should be emphasized that violating the provisions of the order or damaging the technological monitoring means intended for monitoring constitutes an offense, for which criminal proceedings may be taken.
