IDF Chief of Staff: Reservist rights protected, new policy April
IDF Chief of Staff assures reservist rights are protected, with a new policy starting April to honor commitments and enhance support for service members.
The rights of reservists who have already been called to service will not be harmed. All days that the IDF committed to according to the previous policy will be fully honored. The new policy will be implemented starting in April. B. Reserve brigade commanders and battalion commanders will receive a dedicated budget for independent management, to strengthen the family support and rear in a minimum of bureaucracy. C. Reserve brigade commanders and battalion commanders will be allocated a dedicated reserve days budget for the purpose of increasing readiness and fitness in light of the period’s characteristics. The Chief of Staff emphasized the unique and central contribution of reservists to the security of the State of Israel, and emphasized that the IDF is committed to acting towards them with transparency, fairness, and responsibility, out of deep appreciation for their sacrifice and their ongoing commitment to the security of the state. The IDF will continue to act in order to ease the heavy burden placed on reserve soldiers, subject to the security reality and the required legislation.
