The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, visited the Northern Command today (Thursday), accompanied by the Commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, and other commanders.

As part of the visit, the Chief of Staff held a situation assessment and received an operational briefing on the events of the past few days in the Northern Command.

The Chief of Staff ordered reinforcements and the deployment of additional forces to the northern sector.

The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, said: “We are in a multi-arena war, we are operating simultaneously against Iran and its proxies and operating with great force against the regime of evil. Any blow to Iran weakens all of its proxies. The war with Hezbollah is a war in another main arena, not a secondary one.”

“We are making decisions daily, with the central consideration being the security of the state and its citizens – we are acting for the residents of the North and their security. We will investigate and learn from the decisions made last night. If there was a mistake – the responsibility is primarily mine. We will draw lessons and learn. Let there be no mistake – we are fighting against absolute evil.”

“We must not allow our enemies to sow demoralization among us. We will continue to operate in the North with force and will reinforce the forces. Hezbollah made a grave mistake and will continue to pay a heavy price for it. The Lebanese government does not enforce its authority in its territory – therefore, we will do so. Of the hundreds of launches fired yesterday, only two hit Israeli territory – this is a very significant achievement.”

“The activity of the Northern Command, the preliminary preparedness, and the decisive action led to excellent results: dozens of terrorists were killed, most of the launchers were thwarted after they fired, and we hit dozens of buildings in the heart of terror in Beirut.”

“In addition, we succeeded in locating and thwarting the commander of the Imam Hussein Division and his deputy, along with many of the division’s staff officers. After the strike in Dahieh, many Hezbollah terrorists began to flee to other hiding places in Beirut, among the population. We will continue to protect our citizens everywhere and from everywhere.”

“We have reinforced the Northern Command with hundreds of soldiers and intelligence officers, collection capabilities, and fire support. They are achieving amazing and impressive results, and I am full of appreciation for them and their achievements. This campaign will not be short. We will bring additional forces and capabilities to the North. We will continue to operate with great force. We are moving forward.”
