In Operation ‘Lion’s Roar’, the IDF, in close cooperation with the US Army, set out to strike the Iranian terror regime and remove long-term and short-term threats to the State of Israel. But to better understand what this statement means, it needs to be broken down into details.

The objective, as stated, is to address this threat from the head to the roots, a threat composed of several arrays and capabilities: the internal Iranian control and enforcement mechanisms, the Revolutionary Guards’ defense and military industries, the air detection and defense array, the fire and ballistic missile effort, and the nuclear program.

So how is this done? The campaign began with a surprising and significant opening strike, which the IDF had been working on for a long time. It was lethal, fast, and precise – and under the cover of the shock it created among the Iranian security forces, it enabled the elimination of 40 senior leaders of the regime, including the regime leader Ali Khamenei, who headed the program to destroy Israel.

This was carried out through simultaneous strikes on three senior leadership meetings: the leadership complex, a Defense Council meeting attended by the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards and many senior officials, and a meeting of Ministry officials, the central Iranian intelligence body.

Alongside this move, the IDF quickly began to strike two central arrays – missiles and defense. Iran’s ballistic missile array constitutes the most significant threat to the Israeli home front. To date, over 700 targets belonging to this array have been attacked, and 70% of Iranian launchers and missiles have been rendered inoperable. The inventory of unmanned aerial vehicles has also been severely impacted, with over 250 of them attacked.

Another critical achievement is the strike on the defense array, which includes surface-to-air missiles, numerous radars, and other dedicated systems. A strike on this array means greater freedom of operation over Iranian skies. Therefore, significant efforts were invested in this mission, and 80% of these defense systems were attacked.

From here to the next stage: deepening the achievements the IDF has made so far – while focusing on the core of the regime: its foundations, if you will. The first targets were its military industries – factories and sites where ballistic missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and other means used by the regime are produced. But not only that – these systems were also found in Lebanon, Gaza, and Syria.

Thus, the flow of missiles, weaponry, and the regime’s combat systems has been cut off, creating a fairly simple equation – what was destroyed by the IDF will not return. To date, over 100 targets of this type have been attacked. This means delaying and disrupting the regime’s ability to rearm.

The second aspect requiring attention is the terror regime’s control mechanisms. In this context, the Air Force is attacking significant and central command centers and headquarters from which Iranian warfare is conducted – the attacks on Israel, and the brutal oppression of the Iranian people. As part of this activity, thousands of junior and senior commanders and soldiers who manned these headquarters have been eliminated.

If we look inward, into Iran, three significant bodies are responsible for controlling the people and constitute the regime’s suppression mechanisms: Internal Security, the Intelligence Directorate, and the Basij – a militia composed of volunteer citizens, which ‘deals with’ internal civilian problems. So far, over 500 command and control targets have been attacked.

The third component in the crosshairs is the Iranian nuclear project. Over the past two weeks, the IDF has been attacking and deepening the progress made nine months ago in Operation ‘With the Lion’. The focus is on infrastructure and sites that were attacked, where the regime attempted to carry out rehabilitation and conceal it from the entire world.

To date, throughout the operation, over 2,000 different targets have been attacked across Iran using more than 10,000 different munitions.

The ongoing activity carried out by the IDF against the terror regime in the past two weeks is the result of exceptionally long and precise preparation. Intelligence, operational, logistical, and mental preparation. This is what enables the intensity of the operation and the intensive and precise pace of attacks.
