We’ve just returned from Ethiopia

Experience the vibrant pulse of Africa’s capital as Ethiopia seeks to connect with Israel through education, employment, innovation, and more. Israeli expertise.

Africa’s capital is pulsing with energy — and at its core lies one clear desire: to connect with Israel. Not just through diplomacy — but through heart, mind, and action. In every meeting, we heard the same powerful message: “We want to learn from you and grow together.”

So, what was there?

  • Education – Meetings with senior officials in Ethiopia’s Ministry of Education, eager to develop deep collaborations with Israel, including vocational training, academic programs, climate education, and healthcare.
  • Employment & Youth – A shared vision to build a skilled generation through training, Israeli expertise, and perhaps even integration into the Israeli job market.
  • Women & Society – Programs for female leadership, trauma healing, partnerships with Israel’s Authority for the Advancement of Women, and experts in finance and telemarketing.
  • Innovation & Technology – Developing innovation hubs, research delegations, Israeli lecturers – and a sparkle of AI in every conversation.
  • Culture – Culinary festivals, training in art, theater, and film – with a strong desire to connect hearts through creativity.
  • Environment & Sustainability – A clean, conscious Ethiopia with ambitious campaigns aiming to reach 50 million people (!) through social media.

But above all, what we truly experienced — was a deep human connection.

The director of the tech institute searching for the Israeli founder’s relatives. The minister dreaming of visiting Jerusalem. And that look in the eyes that simply says: “We are together.”

This wasn’t just a visit — it was a reminder of how powerful it is to see your own country through someone else’s eyes, and to remember how much Israel has to offer. And more than that — how much it still inspires.

Before and after everything — none of this would’ve happened without our incredible embassy in Ethiopia. Deep thanks to Mr. Avraham Neguisa, Israel’s ambassador, and his deputy Tomer Bar-Lev — for their dedication, professionalism, and endless support.
