Israel Launches Winter Relief Effort for Jewish Communities in Ukraine
Israel launches NIS 4 million winter relief effort for Ukraine's Jewish communities, providing hotel stays with heating and hot meals to combat the energy.
Jerusalem, 19 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism is providing NIS 4 million ($1.27 million) in aid to Jewish communities across Ukraine.
The support, in collaboration with Mosaic United, offers hotel and guesthouse stays with continuous electricity, heating, and hot meals, targeting areas affected by prolonged power outages.
“The war in Ukraine has led to a severe energy crisis. This reality has forced many families to live in conditions of extreme cold… we will continue to stay in contact with the communities and ensure they are equipped for every challenge,” said the ministry’s Director General, Avi Cohen Scali.
