Jerusalem, 2 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In honor of Tu B’Shvat, the Jewish new year for the tress (a minor holiday) which began Sunday night, Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority revealed that Shaked (almond) is the most popular name related to nature among girls (11,218), while the name Arbel (a mountain near the Sea of Galilee) is almost equally popular with both boys and girls – 2,771 boys and 4,464 girls have that name.

Tu B’Shevat is the fifteenth day of the Hebrew month of Shevat.
