The Ministry of Health Warns the Public Against the Consumption of the Product “Tavor – Extra Virgin Syrian Olive Oil”, from All Expiration Dates

The Ministry urges the public to not consume this product; laboratory tests performed by the Ministry showed that this is a counterfeit olive oil.

Following routine inspection actions by the National Food Services in the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Health warns the public against the consumption of the product “Tavor – Extra Virgin Syrian Olive Oil”, 1 liter, code 7532, from all expiration dates.

The Ministry’s laboratory tests have discovered that this is a counterfeit olive oil. The composition of the fatty acids in the product do not meet the definition of an olive oil as indicated on the label on the product. This manufacturer is not familiar to the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health shall continue to investigate and detect cases of food products fraud, such as counterfeit olive oil. Should any violations against the requirements of the legislation and standards in Israel be found, the Ministry shall take actions with all the means at its disposal.
