Animal Description: The Ministry of Health reports a stray dog infected with Rabies in Amir, Upper Galilee. The dog is a large mixed breed with brown fur.
Dates: From 01/28/2026 to 02/11/2026
Details: One person who was exposed to the dog was referred for preventive rabies treatment.
Instructions: Anyone who was in contact, or whose pets were in contact, with the infected or stray animals in the area during these dates should urgently contact the Health Bureau in Safed at 04-6994257, 04-6994200, or their nearest Health Bureau to consider preventive treatment.
After hours or on weekends, contact the emergency department at a hospital.
Ministry of Health Requests:
- Parents – check if your children had contact with any suspected animals and contact the Health Bureau immediately.
- Pet owners – contact your local veterinarian to verify your pets’ vaccination status.
- Share this information with hikers and visitors in the area and nearby communities.
