The Ministry of Health published new regulations aimed at making it easier for doctors trained and who worked abroad to obtain a license to practice medicine in Israel. According to the published regulations, doctors with 10 or more consecutive years of experience in their home country will be exempt from the licensing exam. These doctors will be required to complete a period of clinical practice, as was previously required for doctors with more than 14 years of experience.
The regulations are designed to facilitate the integration into the local labor market of doctors with clinical experience who studied and worked abroad.
