Knesset committee day on Feb 9 spotlights rehabilitation needs for children recovering from cancer, addressing gaps in medical, emotional, and educational.
Jerusalem, 9 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — At the initiative of MK Tatiana Mazarsky and the “Larger Than Life” association, the Knesset held a special committee day on February 9 to mark World Cancer Day, focusing on the medical, emotional, and social rehabilitation of children recovering from cancer and their families. Health and children’s Rights and Labor and Welfare committees held parallel discussions, joined by families, professionals, and policymakers.
For the first time, the National Rehabilitation Council convened in the Knesset to advance coordinated support. Participants highlighted gaps in rehabilitation services, educational and emotional support, and parental employment policies, calling for a national framework to ensure holistic care and a sustainable future for recovering children.
