High to Extreme Air Pollution Across the Country Today Due to Dust
High to extreme air pollution blankets Israel today as dust from Jordan drifts in. Sensitive groups advised to limit strenuous outdoor activity.
The high air pollution is caused by southeasterly winds carrying dust from Jordan into our region.
The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection recommend that sensitive groups, including people with heart or lung disease, older adults, children, and pregnant women, avoid strenuous outdoor physical activity. The general public is advised to limit strenuous outdoor activity.
Poor air quality is expected to continue most of the time tomorrow, Tuesday (February 17), and on Wednesday (February 18). The ministry will continue to update the public as needed based on forecasts and data measured at monitoring stations across the country.
You can follow air quality monitoring stations on the website and through the “Air in the Environment” app of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
