A significant reform in the process of recognizing medical specialization degrees for new Olim has taken effect. The “Green Track,” as it is called, will allow specialist physicians immigrating from the US, France, Canada, and the UK to receive swift recognition of their specialization without the need for an adaptation period.
Olim who are physicians and meet the required criteria will be able to receive full recognition of their specialization from their country of origin within a relatively short period of time. This is a significant step toward quicker integration into the Israeli healthcare system and the professional job market.
Guidelines for physicians already engaged in the process of recognition:
- Physicians informed they would need to undergo an adaptation period but haven’t yet started: The Scientific Council will issue a new letter canceling the adaptation period requirement, subject to meeting the Green Track criteria.
- Physicians currently in the adaptation period: A letter from the employer confirming the completion of the adaptation period on a specified date must be provided to the Scientific Council.
How to proceed?
The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration calls on all specialist physicians making Aliyah from the relevant countries to contact the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association directly to check their eligibility for the Green Track and receive detailed instructions for submitting their application.
Complete details about the process and eligibility criteria can be found on the website of the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association.
