Major General Roman Gofman Appointed New Head of Israeli Intelligence
Major General Roman Gofman will become the new Head of the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency, following approval by a senior appointments committee.
Jerusalem, 12 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Advisory Committee for Appointments to Senior Positions, headed by Supreme Court President (retd) Asher Grunis, approved this evening the candidacy of Major General Roman Gofman for the position of Head of the Mossad for Intelligence and Special Positions, Israel’s version of the CIA.
Upon receiving the committee’s approval, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed the letter of appointment of the next head of the Mossad, Major General Roman Gofman, who will take office on June 2, 2026 for a period of 5 years.
