Following requests from the professional associations and in light of the security situation in the country due to Operation “Roaring Lion,” and in order to ease the burden on the public, the Director of the Israel Tax Authority, Mr. Shay Aharonovich, has instructed that several relief measures be implemented as follows:

  • The deadlines for Filing periodic reports and payments for VAT, Withholding Tax, and Income Tax advances for February 2026 for monthly reporters, and for January–February 2026 for bi-monthly reporters, will be postponed to March 26, 2026.
  • The deadlines for measuring the final quotas under the extension arrangement for the submission of annual Income Tax returns for the 2024 tax year, which were postponed to March 30, 2026 for representatives and April 29, 2026 for corporate returns, will remain unchanged. By these dates, 100% of the returns must be submitted.
  • The deadline for submitting the annual declaration for 2025 by an Exempt Dealer will be postponed until April 30, 2026, and the deadline for submitting the annual summary report for 2025 by a Small Business Owner, which had already been postponed to May 31, 2026, will remain on that date.
  • As part of the implementation of a fast track for releasing VAT refunds, 5,742 refunds totaling approximately NIS 110 million have been processed.
  • Across all tax systems — Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Real Estate Taxation, VAT, and Customs — no new liens will be imposed in respect of debts, and no enforcement proceedings will be carried out until April 12, 2026. This date may be updated depending on the security situation. This measure applies except in exceptional cases, subject to approval by the Senior Deputy Director General for Enforcement and Collection. It is emphasized that fines, linkage differentials, and interest will apply in accordance with the law, and that this measure does not cancel existing liens or write off debts, but only suspends the aforementioned enforcement procedures.
  • Responses to inquiries on this matter will be provided through the online services:
    • Representatives’ Inquiry System
    • Online Inquiry System.
  • In addition, representatives who have been called up for reserve duty will receive dedicated assistance, in addition to the regular contact channels, through a designated inquiry mailbox at the Enforcement and Collection Headquarters of the Israel Tax Authority.
