The Ministry of Environmental Protection announces the appointment of Reut Rabi to the position of Senior Director of Climate Change – Mitigation (Emissions Reduction). In this role, Rabi will lead the development of national policy and the setting of targets for greenhouse gas emissions reduction and their implementation according to Israel’s international commitments, as well as the promotion of a clean, low-carbon economy for the benefit of public health.
Rabi brings with her over fifteen years of professional and managerial experience at The Ministryof Environmental Protection in environmental regulation in the fields of air quality, energy, industry, climate change, and asbestos. In her last role, she served as Director of the Air Pollution and Asbestos Prevention Division, where she led initiatives and policy setting for the implementation of the Clean Air Law and the improvement of air quality, including: managing the national air monitoring system, promoting and implementing national programs for setting targets for the reduction of air pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions, and representing the Ministry in international forums.
Rabi holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences with a research track and a Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Sciences and Environmental Studies from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
