Gasoline Prices in Israel Jump Almost 15% Due to War
Israel's Fuel and Gas Administration announced a 14.6% gasoline price increase to 8.05 Shekels per liter, attributed to war-driven global oil costs.
Jerusalem, 31 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Fuel and Gas Administration reported that, at midnight between Tuesday and Wednesday (01.04.2026), the prices of fuel products that are under supervision and sold to consumers at gas stations will be updated.
The maximum price per liter of unleaded 95 octane gasoline for the consumer at a self-service station (including VAT) will not exceed 8.05 Shekels ($2.55) per liter, almost $10 per gallon, an increase of 1.03 Shekels ($0.32 – 14.6%) from the previous update. The surcharge for full service will be 0.25 Shekel per liter (including VAT), unchanged from the previous update.
The price increase is mainly due to a 49% increase in the price of gasoline in the Mediterranean basin, due to the increase in the price of oil worldwide following the war. In addition, there was a moderate increase of about 2% in the fuel exchange rate.
